Who am I and why am I doing this?
I'm a handmaid of the Lord, and I need an outlet for my more religious thoughts that make my secular friends uncomfortable.
For me, a big part of life is the service you can perform for others. In my previous position (I'm currently job hunting), I was happiest when I could be of service to others, whether it was helping them do their own job, training them, taking on responsibilities to free up my boss, or just cranking out samples to keep my customers happy.
In my church work, my service is music ministry. Again, I'm at a crossroads there as well. I'm not happy with the direction my parish has been going in so I'm taking a sabbatical from ministry to discern where God wants me to be.
I'm trying (again) to get into a routine of contemplative prayer. I was very pleased to discover that Sr. Mary Margaret (Meg) Funk, author of Thoughts Matter and Tools Matter for Practicing the Spiritual Life has a blog which she updates frequently. She can be found at http://www.megfunk.com.
My spiritual path is one of fairly traditional Catholicism, but I firmly believe that God calls us where we are, and many people have a real problem with the Catholic Church. I just know that it's where I personally am supposed to be right now.
